Hoarding the Pretties

Faroah is an imp dragon. He's six inches long from the tip of his snout to the tip of his tail and while intelligent, isn't exactly the smartest duck in the pond. He's obsessed with 'shinies' and pretties and thanks to his pet goddess, Xanth, he has a nest almost as big as the Elysian marketplace. Which, you know, is a lot for a six inch dragon. xD

If your eyes don't work properly (like my mom's apparently don't - she said it was a train! -wailflail-) it's a red dragon with lilac wings sleeping curled up on a pile of gold and jewels.

Er, yes, I did reuse the frame from the one I made for my chibidoptables, but when I asked my girlfriend if I should recolour to silver with an emerald at the top, she said she liked the gold contrast with the night sky, and I agree - which was why I made a gold frame with a night sky background in the first place. xD

Anyway, I think this is really a milestone for me, it's the first creature I've really pixelled that's this complex. I've drawn the imp dragons before, of course, they were one of the first pixels I made for EF, but they were much smaller and far, far less complicated.

So I know the shading's not brilliant. The contrast between the darker lines and the lighter fill is a bit too sharp and you can't really see his eye. On top of that, the wings aren't brilliant either. Some of the jewels need to be recoloured so they sparkle more, and possibly the stars sparkle too much and detract from the dragon...

It's not brilliant, in other words, and could be much better. But I didn't really use any references and overall I don't think I did bad at all. d(^__^)b
